Fire alarm cable is listed FPL for general use, FPLR for risers and FPLP for plenum spaces, in 2 to 4 conductors with or without a shield. It is installed in commercial buildings and replaced during renovations.
Because each building needs a specific length, a contractor finishing a school or a clinic usually has several partial reels in the van.

How fire alarm cable is identified
- FPL, FPLR or FPLP printed on the jacket
- Conductor count and AWG
- Shielded or unshielded
- Feet remaining on the reel
- Whether the print is still legible, since inspectors need it
The rating is the product
FPLP costs more than FPL because it can go in a plenum. That rating is printed on the jacket, and it is the first thing a purchaser checks. A reel with an illegible print loses most of its value.
Wire and cable only
We do not buy transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery or unrelated scrap. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.
