Welding, portable and flexible

We buy welding cable and SOOW cord

Shop stock, not building wire. Welding lead, SOOW cord, portable power cable and the flexible cable that accumulates in fab shops, mills and maintenance departments.

Welding cable and SOOW are bought by the foot and used hard. When a shop changes equipment or a maintenance department consolidates stock, partial spools of 2/0 welding lead and 10/4 SOOW end up on a shelf with no plan.

We buy those spools, along with the flexible and portable cable that comes out of plant projects. Type and gauge matter; the spool does not.

Flexible cable has a short list of buyers

Welding lead and portable cord are a small corner of the wire market, which is exactly why shops end up storing them indefinitely. If the jacket is intact and the type is readable, it is worth a look even in modest quantities — especially when it is bundled with other wire from the same shop.

Wire and cable only

We do not buy transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery or unrelated scrap. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.

Welding & flexible cable questions

Do you buy used welding cable?
Only if it is clean and the jacket is intact. Cable with cuts, exposed conductor or splices is not something we buy.
Do you take portable cord on partial spools?
Yes. 10/4 and 12/3 SOOW partial spools are common and buyable.
What about extension cords?
No. Assembled cords and cord sets are not wire stock. We buy the cable, not the finished product.
Can this be part of a mixed load with building wire?
Yes, and it should be. List each type as its own line so the load can be quoted properly.
