Utility-scale solar is a wire business. Thousands of feet of PV conductor, feeder and MV cable per site, and every site finishes with reels left.

North Carolina has one of the largest utility-scale solar build-outs in the country. A single project consumes PV wire, USE-2 and RHW-2 conductor, AC feeder and 15kV or 25kV collection cable.

Because arrays are laid out in blocks, material is ordered per block and the final blocks rarely consume everything.

What we buy from solar and renewable

PV and USE-2 conductor

Sunlight-resistant single conductor in #10 through #2, plus dual-rated RHW-2/USE-2.

AC and DC feeder

Aluminum and copper feeders from inverter and transformer connections.

Collection system cable

15kV and 25kV cable with concentric neutral, priced on the tag.

What we need from you

  • Reel tags with footage for each block
  • Voltage class for collection cable
  • Whether conductor is sunlight resistant and still coiled as delivered

Project-scale quantities

Solar surplus is usually measured in pallets rather than reels. Send the block, the reel count and the footage per reel, and the lot can be priced without a site visit for most sizes.

Wire and cable only

We do not buy transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery, poles or unrelated scrap. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.

Do you buy PV wire that sat in the sun on site?
Yes, if the insulation is intact. Photograph the outer wrap, since that is where UV damage shows.
Do you buy 25kV collection cable?
Yes, with the tag and footage. Test data helps.
