Surplus wire pickup across North Carolina

Pickup is arranged around the load, not the other way around. Here is what makes a load worth collecting and how the day usually goes.

What qualifies for a pickup

A pickup makes sense when the wire is worth more than the trip. In practice that means at least one of the following: a reel of large conductor, several partial reels of building wire, a pallet of tagged stock, or a mixed load where the total is meaningful.

A single coil of #12 does not qualify. A shelf of eight partial reels across four sizes usually does.

How access changes the plan

Reels are heavy and awkward. A ground-level loading dock, a forklift and a wide gate make a load straightforward. A basement, a mezzanine, a gated community or a steep mountain driveway adds time and equipment, and that is why we ask about access before quoting rather than after.

If the material has to be carried up or down stairs, say so. It does not disqualify the load; it changes how it is handled.

What to have ready

  • Reels consolidated where possible, so nothing has to be hunted down on arrival.
  • A contact who will be on site, with a phone number that works that day.
  • Gate codes, dock assignments and any site safety requirements.
  • The reel tags, or photos of them, so the paperwork matches what is loaded.

Coverage across the state

We work statewide. Loads in the Charlotte metro, the Triangle and the Triad are routine; western mountain sites, the coastal counties and the northeast corner are scheduled around travel, which means a larger load or a combined pickup.

Distance is not a disqualifier. It is a factor in whether one reel or ten makes sense.

Questions about this

Do you charge for pickup?
Pickup is arranged as part of the transaction. There is no separate fee structure published here, and nothing is owed unless you accept a quote.
How quickly can you collect?
It depends on the route and the load. A straightforward Charlotte or Triangle pickup is usually days, not weeks.
Can I deliver instead?
For smaller loads that is often simpler. Ask when you send the list and we will tell you which makes more sense.
