Campus work is continuous. A lab changes hands every few years, and the electrical material changes with it.

Research buildings are renovated for the occupant rather than the structure: fume hoods, equipment circuits, instrumentation and data. Each fit-out leaves cable behind, and campuses store it because disposal is harder than storage.

Instrumentation, control, armored and medium voltage cable all appear on the same surplus list.

What we need from you

  • Pair and conductor counts for instrumentation cable
  • Voltage class for anything medium voltage
  • Surplus property tagging, if the material is already in the system

Surplus lists work better than piles

Institutions keep records. A list exported from the surplus property system, with counts and footage, gets a faster and more accurate number than a photograph of a storage cage.

Wire and cable only

We do not buy transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery, poles or unrelated scrap. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.
