We buy surplus wire from electrical distributors

Rack space is inventory. Wire that has not moved in two years is occupying it.

Distributors carry wire the market asked for once. A customer specified 500 MCM aluminum, the job was cancelled, and the reel has been on the rack since. Multiply that by a few dozen SKUs and the dead stock becomes a line item nobody wants to explain.

We buy that material as wire, not as scrap, which is usually the difference between recovering part of the cost and writing it off.

What we buy from electrical distributors

Discontinued and slow-moving sizes

Reels that have not turned in a year or more, in sizes the local market no longer calls for.

Special orders never picked up

Customer-specific cable that was ordered, delivered and then abandoned.

Cut lengths and remnants

Short reels and coils that are too small to sell as stock but too valuable to scrap.

What we need from you

  • SKU list with type, size and footage per reel
  • Which reels are sealed and which have been cut
  • Photos of tags for anything medium voltage

Priced as wire, not as scrap

A scrap price is based on copper content alone. We price the product: type, size, footage and condition, which is why a tagged reel of 4/0 XHHW is worth materially more than its weight.

Wire and cable only

We do not buy transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery, poles or unrelated scrap. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.

Electrical distributors questions

Do you buy full pallets?
Yes, and pallet quantities are the easiest to price because the tags are usually still on the reels.
Can you work with a branch manager rather than a corporate office?
Yes. Most of our distributor work is arranged at branch level.
Do you buy damaged reels?
The reel can be broken; the cable cannot. Send photos of the actual cable, not the packaging.
