Demolition

We buy recovered cable from demolition contractors

There is a difference between wire that was removed and wire that was demolished. Only one of them is still wire.

Commercial and industrial teardowns produce cable in quantity. Reels that were never installed, tray cable pulled in long clean runs and feeders removed intact are all worth more as cable than as weight.

Chopped, mixed and contaminated material is a different market, and not one we buy.

What we buy from demolition contractors

Reels never installed

Material delivered to a site that was demolished before it went in.

Cleanly removed tray and feeder cable

Long runs removed intact, with the jacket still readable.

Removed armored cable

MC and HCF MC recovered in usable lengths rather than chopped.

Recovered cable reels on a demolition site
Demolition contractors — wire and cable only, in any quantity worth a pickup.

What we need from you

  • Photos of the cable as removed, not after sorting
  • Lengths, and whether runs came out intact
  • Whether any reels are still sealed

Removal method decides the value

Cable cut into three-foot pieces is scrap. The same cable removed in 100-foot runs is product. If your crew can pull rather than cut, the difference shows up in the quote.

Wire and cable only

We do not buy transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery, poles or unrelated scrap. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.

Demolition contractors questions

Do you buy mixed demolition wire?
No. Mixed, chopped and contaminated material is scrap, and we are not a scrap yard.
What if the jacket is dirty but intact?
That is fine. Dirt washes off; a torn jacket does not.
Can you quote before demolition starts?
Yes, from a walkthrough or drawings. It is often the better time to agree on how the cable will be removed.
